Wychwood Music Festival 2009
April 19, 2009
Returning to the Cheltenham Racecourse for it’s 5th year, Wychwood 2009 further extends the scope and breadth of an event already so well respected.
Having at it’s heart an ethos of green values and family atmosphere, the line-up for the weekends three stages is nothing if not eclectic;
The Big Top plays host to a wide variety of styles and artists including singer/songwriters (Alex Cornish, Elle Edmondson), one of the NME’s “hottest new bands of 2009” (indie troupe Red Light Company), and even an ex-Young One (folk-cum-punk band Bad Shepherds)!

It also creates a window into what’s happening in Cheltenham’s thriving underground music scene. Jazz is essentially an expression of cultural experimentation and spontaneity and so it always finds a way into the nooks and cranny’s of the most essential aspects of the musical life of the town.
