…These bands were both engaging and energetic but were overshadowed by the local Gloucestershire ska-punk group I Call a Strike whose huge following skanked from beginning to end with no reprieve…

These two bands share the same label, ‘Day By Day’, leading me to believe I was going to be watching two very similar bands. Although they did share some sonic territories they were very different in style…

Given that most of the column inches dedicated to these young Aberdonians so far have concentrated almost entirely on the fact that, on CD at least, they sound like a cross between Scottish indie stalwarts Idlewild and proto-emo heavyweights Biffy Clyro one could be forgiven for thinking that there’s no more to them than an ability to accurately ape those who influence them.
