The Two Pigs
How would you describe the venue?
Old, worn-in and wooden. Lacking in chrome, polish and pretension enough to justify as open a door policy as you’ll find in Cheltenham, which is perhaps reflected in the fact that the Pigs has the lowest incident call-out rate of all Cheltenham’s venues.
Brief history of the venue?
The 2Pigs has been town’s premier alternative venue longer than anywhere else in the ‘nham.
It’s a long way from the days of its inception by two officers of the law way back when, hence the name, but it’s always presented itself as the refuge for the better part of Cheltenham’s inhabitants.
Chip and Kim, the current bosses, have invested time, money and love into kick-starting the Pigs as a live venue after years of relative neglect, with new PA’s and lights in place and gigs on a more than weekly basis.
In giving everyone a stage, the 2Pigs is booming both in its club nights and as a live venue.
